Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 17201
problem with jdbc postgresql in linux
Last modified: 2006-05-31 14:29:06 UTC
Had jdbc working OK in OpenOffice 1.0.3 using jdk-1.3.1_03-fcs rpm from sun in redhat 7.3. At least worked fairly well :) All are using a network install. Have tried on 3 redhat 7.3 compuers. Have tried both j2re-1.4.1_01-fcs and j2re-1.4.2-fcs rpms from sun. /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.1RC/program/jvmsetup seems to be hapy with either one. Database setup was the same as in 1.0.3 Driver: org.postgresql.Driver url jdbc:postgresql://psql/test used pg73jdbc3.jar jdbc driver installed in /usr/java/j2re1.4.2/lib/ext get the following error: The connection to the data source "jdbc" could not be established. No Java installation could be found. Please check your installation! On first attempt seems to fail 100% of the time. If I try again without exiting it connects. Seems to work OK all though I haven't tested much. Tried on a rh 9 computer and acts about the same. Have about 100 openoffice users and want to switch to 1.1 so I'll be happy to do any tests or give any inforamtion that is needed. John

Hi, this is a known issue in the RC version (#110233#). It's fixed in the 1.1 version. Bye Marc
