Description herouth 2003-07-20 21:01:50 UTC
The default BiDi algorithm has problems in certain issues. For example, a string "(English Text)
More Text" (with paretheses) within a right-to-left paragraph Will have the closing parenthesis
incorrectly placed. It appears like "English Text) More English Text)".

There is a solution for this in unicode, in the form of embedding characters (RLE and LRE,
terminated with PDF). Or RLM (To force a neutral character to be considered RTL).

However, there is no way in OOo to insert such characters or to see them. Perhaps an RLE span
should actually be a character style attribute (which is more natural in a word processor than
entering control characters). Whatever the way, such "direction fixes" have to be provided for.
