Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 17094
No way to disable autoformat
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:55:29 UTC
When I type 30:22 into a cell, it turns into 30:22:00. I don't want the cell to say 30:22:00. I want the cell to say 30:22. Presumably, the way to prevent the spreadsheet application from altering the text that I type would be via an option under Format -> AutoFormat. But AutoFormat is "grayed out." I've looked through other dialogs (Format -> Conditional Formatting, Tools -> AutoCorrect, Tools -> Options, Tools -> Configure, etc...) but can't find any way to make OO leave my text alone. Is this a bug? Is there a way to enable my selection of the AutoFormat menu item? Will the AutoFormat dialog even provide a way for me to disable this behavior? Also, the Undo command should undo the autoformatting (but leave my text in place); however in searching through the bug database, I see that this also is a bug, as it currently just deletes the text that I typed.
Hm, it's been 2 weeks... Doesn't anyone else have this problem? Has anyone seen this issue?
