Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 17013
setup /net gets confused if upgrading over 1.1 beta2 net setup when installing user has workstation install
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:51 UTC
Previous installation: 1.1beta2 network install to local machine, local user with workstation install from that installation (to support multiple local users). When trying to upgrade my beta2 network installation to 1.1rc using setup /net, the setup program complained: Version Cannot Be Updated Your existing OpenOffice.org 1.1 workstation installation cannot be updated from a single-user installation. To update your workstation installation, start the setup of your network installation. To abort the setup, click 'Cancel'. Otherwise, click 'OK' to install a single-user version in a new directory. (message above taken down from trying the same thing to reinstall 1.1rc over itself, the original message may have had a different version number string) I resolved the problem by deleting the workstation component for the user doing the installation and then restarting setup /net which then installed as expected. Then redoing the workstation installation for the installing user. I would have expected the net setup to have upgraded the existing net installation regardless of whether the installing user had a workstation install from it.
That messagebox is only comming up when you update similar versions OOo 1.1 beta2 -> RC or SO 6.1 eval -> 6.1. Updating SO 6.0 or OOo 1.0.x is fine. I hope we can have it for this target.
I'll have a look.
Fixed in SRX645 CWS setup17.
Please verify.
Checked in cws setup17:Is ok.
Verified.
Is ok in current inhouse OOo 1.1 build. This fix will reach the next OOo release.
