Description swimazon 2003-07-17 03:14:44 UTC
I have sometimes noticed that text in the text box behaves as though there
were an invisible box edge within the real edge.
Text fails to properly justify, centre, right align etc. though I can
usually "fiddle" the box enough to use it and get the required look.
The text box just doesn't seem quite right and I do have lots of experience in
desk top publishing etc.
It is an occasional problem, of course: the worst sort!

I've noticeed this as well. The "sometimes" is important. In the
same document, usign the same text box form to insert a graphic, some
graphics center well and others act as if there were a required space
around them. Sometimes they can be fixed by deleting both graphic and
frame and re-doing them. Sometimes nothing seems to work (even
setting all "spacing" to "0".)

Difference between full width selected and deselected.
Comment 7 christian.guenther 2003-07-22 09:50:40 UTC
I think the problem is the text anchor 'Format/Text/Text anchor'.
When you check 'Full width' the allignment of the text use the full
width of the textbox.
If 'Full width ' is not selected the allignment use the width of the
longest paragraph.
I attached a document to show the difference.
Please tell me if this helps you or if the bug still occures.

set a target
Comment 9 swimazon 2003-07-22 23:46:04 UTC
I'm sorry, it doesn't help.
I've never even used that menu item before, I have now tried it, but
the alignment/justification do not work with any option.
What is strange is that on some slides the text works perfectly...
and I certainly have not played with that menu item!
Thank you for your efforts.

can you attach another document with the correct behaviour?
With the second document I can compare the documents to see the
differents.

You get a different textanchor corresponding to the kind of creating
the textbox.
If you 'set' a textbox and start writing you get a autosize textbox.
Full width is deselected for this textboxes.
If you 'raise' a textbox you get a textbox with a fix width. Full
width is selected for this textboxes.
This is the reason why you can get different 'states' for Full width
without entering the dialog.
