Description robert.kinsella 2003-07-09 12:14:26 UTC
OO.org 1.1 rc solaris sparc build 'h'

Launch OO.org, under tools, options internet set the proxy setting to e.g.
proxy.uk.sun.com
from the command line issue a pkill -SEGV soffice.bin.
OO.org crashes and a bug report tool launches.
Select Next, options -note that the proxy setting made in OO.org (under
tools/options) is not
enabled in the bug report tool. It would be good if it was.

Hi Hennes,
Joost is on vacation so I forward this issue to. Is this really an
enhancement, so reassing to BH.
Comment 2 hennes.rohling 2003-07-09 14:13:06 UTC
This is by design. For OOo 2.0 there's a chance to fix this.
Comment 3 hennes.rohling 2003-07-09 14:14:20 UTC
Component set. Accepted.

JA: as discussed with HRO I retarget this issue to "later"
Comment 6 parry 2004-08-30 20:18:09 UTC
Please include Proxy Authentication support for the bug report tool, not just
copying the Proxy setting in OO.org.
Issue 25547 was regarding the above and it was closed as duplicate of 16602,
but I didn't see anything relating to authenticated proxies in here. So just
to be sure, I added the request as a comment. Thanks!!

This issue is still here in OpenOffice 2.0B2 on Windows XP. Even having a
pop-up a dialog asking for the username and password would be an acceptable work
around. Many corporate world users need this kind of access. I am not a
programmer so am not sure how much work it requires, but it might be critical
for integration for larger corporations to use this wonderful product.
