Description davide 2003-07-06 21:42:52 UTC
I've downloaded the Linux version of OOo RC italian localization and I've found
only the EN_US dictionaries.
It seems that the italian localization was build with --with-dict=EN_US
because it is the only dictionary present into the package.

I wonder if the release would be done with the italian dictionary.

Hi,

Adding myself to CC on this.

I can confirm this issue. The tag cws_srx645_ooo11rc has the correct source to
handle this case properly.

As of OOo 1.1rc If you use config_office/configure and do not use --with-dict= it will
default to including all dictionaries.

If you only want the Italian dictionary, the config_oiffice/configure line should use:

--with-dict=ITIT

Hope this helps,

Kevin

Hi,
Just guessing that this is related.
I want the Dutch build to come with German and English dictionaries,
but not with the Italian and Russian ones.

So I changed winenv.set as follows:

#setenv DIC_DADK "TRUE"
setenv DIC_DEDE "TRUE"
setenv DIC_ENGB "TRUE"
setenv DIC_ENUS "TRUE"
#setenv DIC_ITIT "TRUE"
#setenv DIC_RURU "TRUE"

unsetenv DIC_DADK >& /dev/null
unsetenv DIC_ITIT >& /dev/null
unsetenv DIC_RURU >& /dev/null

The resulting build however installs the Italian dictionary but not
the German one.

Hi,

The German dictionary itself is full GPL and can NOT be included. The
--with-dict=DEDE simply includes the German Hyphenation dictionary which is LGPL
compliant.

So the switch does enable all availlable German dictionaries.

OK. Any idea why the it_IT dictionary is included when DICT_ITIT is
not set?
Comment 7 khendricks 2003-07-09 13:02:37 UTC
Hi,

I assume you mean when the DIC_ITIT environment var is not set?
If so the answer is "no".

Please note, if you do not use the --with-dict configure switch
at all then the build will default to the equivalent of --with-dict=ALL
which will include everything.
