I installed open office and ran it. The first time it ran it asked me if I
wanted to import addresses from Mozilla, and I clicked OK.

Then it came up with an error.

Now when I run open office it crashes whenever I click on any menu. After doing
this a couple of times it has used up about 120M of memory.

I tried to run the repair utility, but it said it was unable to register anything.

Not very impressive I am afraid.
