Description issues@www 2000-11-16 09:04:33 UTC
IF a word table is created with a different border format
let's say the one that looks line a raised relief, but in 3/4 point weight,
Open Office uses a 5pt weight normal line - which looks awful.

if you can't do the line style, at least don't change the weight of the line.

Thanks for your input. Please be aware that even Microsoft was able to ship
several versions of their word processor and we are always curious if you are
talking about the stone age, the latest, or some of the ones in between when you
report such an issue. Thanks for your cooperation.

I reassigned this to Michael Ruess, our Word Filter Specialist.

MRU->CMC: Perhaps you can makesome enhancements in the table, where the border
types from word are assigned to our line types. The normal types are all ok,
please check the type "reliefed" that is used in the attached document.

This particular ones behaviour is changed to not changing the width in an
attempt to match it up with our table border properties because we cannot do relief.

But what we need to do is make a great big document that uses all of these
different table borders and shadows and have a look to see that all the current
conversions still make sense. List the ones that writer cannot do and
feed them back as feature requests for the new file format and core writer.
Perhaps this is something users@sw.openoffice.org could help out with.

here you go Michael, check in 618
Comment 9 michael.ruess 2001-02-01 12:28:05 UTC
I checked it in 619a and it looks good. It is now matched to 1.00 pt weight
which comes nearest to 3/4 pt from Word.
