Description koolmoose 2003-06-17 07:55:43 UTC
I am Paul Miller from California.

I tried various combinations URL for presentation to Export a Webcast but no images show in
either the listener or presenter web page.

 For example I used
secret.html for the Export file name,
 index.html as URL for listeners,
/images/ for the URL for presentation and
/cgi-bin/ for the URL for perl scripts

Moved files as follows:
Put secret.html and index.html in the /html/ directory
Created an images directory in /html/ directory and put the *.jpg files there.
Put *.txt and *.pl files in /cgi-bin/ directory

chmod 755 *.* in /cgi-bin/
chmod 775 currpic.txt

When I access the Webcast at presenter URL, I get an empty frame, polling and some page controls.
When I access the Webcast at listener URL, I get an empty frame & it polls.

I use perl v5.6.0 on my Linux box
Using perl -w <filename> in /cgi-bin/ I get various errors such as 'unquoted string', 'missing
operator', 'bareword' etc...
I am not experienced enough at perl to try to debug.

Best,
Paul

Hello Paul,
in your description you are talking about your Linux box but the
header of the issue says OS: Win 2000. What is the correct OS you are
using? Thanks for your help.

I exported an Impress document to Webcast on a W2000 box.

I moved the files to two different server machines (Mac OS X & Redhat) both running
apache to test.

Same result on each server.

Also used StarOffice 6.0 to export webcast. Same end result but I recall slightly
different reports when I run perl -w <scriptname>. However, my memory may not be
correct on this point.

I assume exporting the same Impress document on both StarOffice & OpenOffice.org
would produce identical perl scripts or at that perl -w <scriptname> will produce the
same result.

Well, StarOffice 6.0 and OOo 1.0 should be equivalent, OOo 1.1 beta is way down the
road. So, the differences are okay here. The fact that even SO 6.0 does not work makes me
suspecting that something goes systematically wrong at the webserver (since
Webcast _did_ work in our products). But as I've said, will have a look.

Can you tell me a platform and version on which webcast works. I have available
Linux, Windows & Mac systems to test with.

"According to the OpenOffice.org roadmap
(http://tools.openoffice.org/releases) this issue was retargeted to
OOo Later."
