Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 15340
Objects in presentations are misplaced!
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:54:41 UTC
When opening a presentation with this new version (file created in Beta1) the objects are misplaced. I had a bitmap and and I drew arrows to point features of interest. When I read that file with the new Beta2 version the arrows do not match the features of interest any more. Beta1 displays the file ujust fine, and so does StarOffice6, so I think the problem is unique to Beta2. If you can't reproduce the problem let me knwo and I'll look more into it. Gaby

Created attachment 6779 [details] Arrowheads are at the wrong pos.
I can reproduce the bug.
Hi In the meantime I realized the problem has to do with resized/cropped bitmaps. Its not the arrows that are misplaced, but the bitmaps that are not resized/cropped properly. I sent an example, have you seen it? Thanks Gaby
Created attachment 6787 [details] Here is an example, try opening with OOo beta1 and beta2
the cropping scale width and hight is not correct, will look into this one.
The issue is caused by a new feature included in 6.1 beta that lets the office read the correct logical size from a png image. In previous version this was guessed using the pixel size of the image and the current screen resolution. This way, the cropping looks slightly different in the newer version. Since the feature with the correct logical size for png images is critical I vote for not fixing this single issue since it would mean a step backwards, as anoying as this issue may be. But since there is an easy workaround by repositioning the arrows I think this is acceptable. I'm sorry for any inconvinience
According to the comment of CL this is not a bug.
I close the issue.
