Description phillg 2003-06-02 15:35:06 UTC
When saving a presention that has been opened as a PPT file, the drop down menu
jumps to the MS PPT file format. Underneath this this is the option to save it
as a OOo Drawing file, but labelled "Impress" - the same as the presentation
module. Many users have chosen this thinking it is the OOo Presentation
(Impress) file format, not just a static drawing. The removel of the word
"Impress" would resolve this.

Reassigned to Marc.

The StarOffice Impress should show you that you are in StarOffice
Impress where you save the file as Drawing.

But you are right this is a little bit confusing for a user. So I
sentd it to BH to rethink abount this feature.

Hello Andreas, within the text string 'StarOffice 6.0/7 Drawing
(StarOffice Impress) (.sxd)' the part (StarOffice Impress) is
confusing and redundant, when the user simply wants to save the
presentation as Draw file. We can remove the part (StarOffice Impress)
in the save as dialog. Please give approval for this evaluated OO.o
2.0 flagged issue.
If you confirm with the target OO.o 2.0, then please keep it on your
owner (or the owner of the concerning developer) for implementation.
In case you want this issue for 'OOo Later', then please reset the
target milestone. If you decline the issue finally, please set the
resolution to 'Wontfix' (but do not close). In case of 'OOo Later' or
'Wontfix' please reset it on Bettina's owner. Thank you.

Our filter names contains the document type and might by the
corresponding target application. Thats specified for the file open
dialog and must be used inside the file save diaklog too. Because we
dont want to have different filter UINames!

But the bahaviour of the file open dialog will be changed till OOo
2.0. Then we want to have type names there instaed of filter names.
And if we can make these changes, the file save dialog of course will
show type names then too. Then we can show e.g. "StarOffice 6.0/7
Drawing" in both dialogs.

Please stay tuned.

AS->CJ: Because the new OpenWith feature of the FileOpen-Dialog was set to the
OOLater target - we cant fix that new. Please decide, how this bug has to be fixed.
now. I set the target to OOLater.
