Saving the above URL and opening it with Writer hangs. I have to kill the
soffice.bin process and restart. This may be linked to bug 13500, but I'm not sure.

FYI: on Windows XP, I'm having no problem opening this file after 
saving.

I downloaded this file with Konqueror : Location -> Save As.   This 
only downloaded the html, not the images.  I successfully loaded this 
into Writer OOo 1.1beta2 
 
It did take a long time to load (about 15s) during which time the 
interface was unuseable.  I repeated this about 5 times without 
incident. 
 
My setup: 
Debian Sid (Unstable) 
PIII 550MHz 
512 MiB RAM

ES->rwstandridge: Maybe you need to set proxys in OOo (Options -
Internet - Proxy)? Maybe some contents are still linked with the
server and OOo would time-out a little bit too late?

I can't reproduce the described loop.
