Description jharrop 2003-05-23 07:56:06 UTC
On Windows, if I type the URL of a WebDAV server in to the file open dialog, it
fails unless a corresponding Web Folder is defined. It seems that Web Folders
is used.

Using the vnd.sun.star.webdav:// notation gives an error "The above file name is
invalid".

Hi,

this is a known issue. For best integration into Windows, the native
Windows file open dialog (as used by all other applications) is used
by default.

This can be configured to use the internal file open dialog instead
(as used on all other platforms), please look at:

'Tools - Options - StarOffice - General - Open/Save dialogs'

and check 'Use StarOffice dialogs'.

Only the internal file open dialog does use the UCB. There is no
known fix for the Windows dialog to access http: or ftp: documents
without Web Folders.

I'm thus closing this issue as 'invalid', but you may reopen it any
time you like if you feel this is not appropriate.
