Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14766
Default languages for documents: Western setting not saved
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:02:39 UTC
When I change "Default languages for documents: Western", say, from default "English (USA)" to "Lithuanian (Lithuania)", and option "For current document only" is unchecked, "English (USA)" is still the default for new documents, both in the same session of OOo and in newly started OOo. I have Quickstarter disabled. The same applies when checkbox "For current document only" is checked, so it seems like this option is broken.
Hi, I think I can confirm the same problem. Under WinXP Home using OO1.1beta2 if I change the default language to English (Australian) I cannot get this to stick no matter what I do. This is being done via Toos -> Options -> Langauge Settings -> Languages. It always goes back to English (US). I only have the Australian dictionary loaded and no US dictionary installed. As a result it is obvious to me as the spell check won't stay active as well. Kelvin Kelvin
I verified that Language Setting persists on oo1.0.3, but not on oo1.1beta2. I bet this got fouled up when they added the ability to be open without having a document open. Also, if you have a new document open, select a language (not just for this document), and close the document without closing OOo, the language setting pops back to English. So you don't even have to restart OOo to reproduce the bug.
See related 14815 and my suggested workaround, until fixed. regards Marco Menardi
DL->GT: Would you please takeover?
will have a look at it
gt->tl:as discussed, this issue much more comfortable in your hands
Tl->Kevin: To you since it depends on the fixed setup entry.
Hi, Underlying bug from issue 15362 was fixed in cws_srx644_ooo11beta2 yesterday so that should fix this one as well. Thanks for your bug report. Resolving this as fixed, please verify it with the next OOo 1.1 release. Kevin
verfied in 1.1.0.
