* create a new dBase data source, or use an existing one
* create a new dBase table, with one field of type "memo [LONGVARCHAR]"
* set the length of this field to e.g. 50
* save the table under an arbitrary name
* close the table design
* re-open the table design
=> the length of the memo column is reported as "0"
