Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14394
export of 3D effects is always low res
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:42:15 UTC
I love the 3D effects that OOo Draw has -- they are great for dressing up the stale, technical graphics that I have to produce... however... if I export from OOo.Draw in various formats (WMF, EMF, PNG) the 3D effect part of the figure is exported as a raster (I realise there are technical limitations to doing this as a vector) but not of user-configurable resolution. It appears that the export of the 3D effect always exports as screen-resolution. Enhancement: allow the export resolution to be user-configurable (actually, I think this might be a deeper issue, as even when exporting in other raster formats, the user is not prompted as to the desired resolution) thanks in advance! Stuart
Reassigned to Bettina.
You can select the resolution when you select BMP. JPG, WMF, and others do not seem to ask.
Hi Scott, thanks for the idea of exporting as BMP to get around this -- unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Whenever I export to BMP (just a simple image on the default A4 canvass) the same BMP file comes out regardless of the settings I apply in the "resolution" dialogue. The BMP is 747x1089 which is about 36dpi of the original image. I haven't found a way around this. Perhaps we're uncovering deeper issues for which separate bug reports need to be filed? Let me know if you want me to investigate further and do so. regards Stuart
