Hi Matthias, I am not sure, but I think this is a framework bug. If I am wrong, then please give me a hint what to do and where to look. I changed the Issue type to enhancement, because this feature did not work at any time.
Should be considered in the new code
The hyperlink bar looks like a normal toolbar, but it isn't one. We will change this for the next major version.
.
Set target correctly.
according to http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7690 this issue will be set to OOoLater
This was reported for Ooo 1.1 but the problem still remains for Ooo 2.0.2 The hyperlink bar does not work as a real toolbar.
The problem still exists in OOo 2.1 The hyperlink bar does not look and does not behave like the rest of the toolbars. It looks like a relic from the past. This is not an enhancement request, but a defect.
Confirmed with OpenOffice.org 2.1.0 [680m6(Build:9095)] on Windows98SE 4.10.2222 and Windows XP SP2 some clarification on initial state of program for for reproduction procedure: 1.If hyperlink toolbar is not shown then enable it via View|Toolbars|Hyperlink Bar. Otherwise skip this step. 2.defect => Note that the arrow icon at the end of Hyperlink toolbar is missing. hyperlink toolbar has some additional properties that probably relate to same issue: a)The handle at the start of the toolbar is missing - as the result it becomes impossible to move, dock/undock the toolbar. b)The toolbar takes up the entire screen width, even though some space remains unused. This is a waste of space. c)It is impossible to customize the toolbar: additionally to missing arrow icon at the end of the toolbar, Tools|Customize on Toolbars tab the Hyperlink toolbar does not appear on the list Toolbars. User manual does not provide any additional ways to customize a toolbar. d)The colour of the toolbar does not correspond to the one of other toolbars: instead of light-to-dark gray gradient, solid gray (RGB #D4D0C8) is used.
