Description mediumnet 2003-05-09 17:35:39 UTC
If you have a Writer document (e.g. a scientific script) which contains a
moderate amount of formulas (say 100), saving such a document is extremely slow
(about 3..5 minutes are required).

This makes OO especially unusable for writing scripts during lectures, which is
very annoying. This leads to the consequence, that users do not save regularily.
Then, OO crashes suddenly and all the work is lost

Maybe related is that loading such documents is also too slow.

This may be a implementation bug, where each formula is implemented as OLE
object and gets a private directory in the resulting ".sxw" archive.

I cannot reproduce this in a 644 m13.
Saving takes about 10-20 seconds after loading.

TL->MRU: Please check.

Can also not reproduce. The file saves within 15 sec. And I used a
debug version, which is much slower, in deed.
