Description bryancole 2003-05-06 12:31:09 UTC
Text boxes in Impress lose their correct font and colour (i.e. Style info) when
the document is exported to MS-PowerPoint format and opened in PowerPoint. Note
that, the PowerPoint document retains it's correct fonts/colours when re-opened
in OpenOffice.

This is a new bug in OO-1.1beta which was not evident in OO-1.0.2

I've attached an example *.sxi document to demonstrate this bug. I'll post the
resulting *.ppt file if it's requested.

Comment 5 christian.guenther 2003-05-16 16:14:19 UTC
I see the bug in the attached document but I can't reproduce it in a
new document.
Please have a look.
Comment 6 bryancole 2003-05-22 16:40:59 UTC
OK, new documents created in v-1.1beta do not show this problem.
However documents created in v-1.1beta, but using my existing template
(which was created with OOo-v1.0) *do* show the problem. I can
obviously work around the problem by making a new template in
v-1.1beta, however this does still suggest an underlying bug in
openoffice.

I'll attach my template file.

Impress template file demonstrating bad font-export to powerpoint format
Comment 8 bryancole 2003-06-06 19:09:11 UTC
Hi Y'all,

I still see this bug in OOo-1.1beta2. I've trace it a bit though: The
font export problem occurs only with text formatted using Default
Style to "soft-format" it. If you manually set the text font to e.g.
Arial (i.e. hard format the text) the text is exported to ppt with the
correct font.

I'll attach a couple of files as an example.

Note: contrary to my previous posts, this bug is NOT related to the
template used. I can reproduce the bug using a "virgin" installation
of OOo-1.1beta2, with no additional templates etc.

When creating a PDF file, the text positioning is correct, in an
on-screen show it's broken.
Comment 12 sven.jacobi 2003-06-30 17:43:52 UTC
Indeed, this is a bug, I'll try to fix this soon.

I have similar problam and I think this is the same bug. When I use
international characrters (Lithuanian), those characters are displayed
in different font in powerpoint. When I open the same file in
OpenOffice - everything is ok. This bug only occurs when you change
font or other formating not using styles. If you use only styles and
change formating in styles - everything is ok.

Because of limited resource for OOo2.0, it was decided to shift this tasks to
the next milestone. If somebody will be found, who can implement this until
OOo2.0, then this tasks will be re-targeted.
Comment 15 sven.jacobi 2006-10-31 15:27:16 UTC
sj->cgu: in the latest OOo version I am no longer able to reproduce this issue,
so most probably it has been fixed somehow in the meantime.
Comment 16 christian.guenther 2006-11-08 10:57:52 UTC
I can't also reproduce the bug any longer.
I change the resolution to invalid.
Comment 17 christian.guenther 2006-11-08 11:00:55 UTC
I close the issue as invalid.
