Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14145
Import/export SYLK cell annotations, C;A records
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:10 UTC
SYLK files that are used by warcraft III will no longer work after being loaded and saved in openoffice even when no changes are made. the output file is about 3/5ths of the length of the original, and is missing what appear to be comments at the beggining of the file. as a result, Warcraft III can no longer read them properly. This problem is not present when loading and saving in excel. You can access the original file and the corrupted one here: http://topoi.pooq.com/h4/sylk/ for more questions: LunarCrisis@hotmail.com

Hi, as Excel itself can read the generated SYLK Files from OOo this not a bug from OOo but one from Warcraft, So please file a bug against warcraft. Nevertheless we discovered a new possibility to enhance our SYLK filter and will try to integrate this. So I set the flags to Enhancement and Target OOo Later. Frank
This may be a slight misunderstanding. OOo currently doesn't import/export annotations (cell comments, C;A records) from/to SYLK format, also the formula notation of relative cell references (RC[...]) isn't supported by OOo Calc. If WarCraft relies on the presence of those annotations and/or formulas (the formulas in this special notation can't even be read by Excel97) then currently this is not a viable option, but it's also not a fault of WarCraft, please try to use another data exchange format if possible. Another possibility would be, that WarCraft relies on the ID record to read ID;PWXL;N;E but OOo Calc writes ID;PSCALC3, you may try to change that.
Better summary.
