Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14139
Equation: selection toolbox interface is confusing (add a seperator, please)
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:55:10 UTC
sorry about the summary, ill change it if i can think of a better description. I was recently demonstrating OpenOffice.org Math and we were trying to use the Selection Window/Toolbox. It surprised us both that selecting an item from the top two rows, changes the items below. In the very short term, something as simple as a horizontal ruler to delinate the differnt areas would help. see mockup: http://matrix.netsoc.tcd.ie/~horkana/dev/openoffice.org/oomath/screenshots/OpenOffice.orgMath_SelectionBox_Relations.png http://matrix.netsoc.tcd.ie/~horkana/dev/openoffice.org/oomath/screenshots/OpenOffice.orgMath_SelectionBox_Relations_withRulerMockup.png If this could be brought to the attention of one of the Sun usability experts I am sure they would know which widget would be most appropriate to better indicate that the items in the top two rows change the items below.
I completed the title for more significance. MRU->TL: I think, inserting a seperator in the Selection-Box shouldn't be such a huge effort.
Fixed in CWS sw013
