sorry about the summary, ill change it if i can think of a better description.  

I was recently demonstrating OpenOffice.org Math and we were trying to use the
Selection Window/Toolbox.  It surprised us both that selecting an item from the
top two rows, changes the items below.  

In the very short term, something as simple as a horizontal ruler to delinate
the differnt areas would help.

If this could be brought to the attention of one of the Sun usability experts I
am sure they would know which widget would be most appropriate to better
indicate that the items in the top two rows change the items below.

I completed the title for more significance.

MRU->TL: I think, inserting a seperator in the Selection-Box shouldn't
be such a huge effort.
