Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14019
Can't disable ActiveX control from being integrated with Internet Explorer.

Hi, I think the new ActiveX control is superb. However I haven't been able to find a way to disable it being integrated with Internet Explorer. (WinXP, OO644m7 but ActiveX is now active in OO1.0.3.1). Normally I would consider this an enhancement request, but in this case not being able to enable and disable as per the users circumstances, is to me a deficiency. I can disable Acrobat reader and almost every other product that tries to integrate itself with Internet Explorer. Please provide the ability to somehow disable/enable the ActiveX control. I would like to be able to give users direct access to OpenOffice.org on my website in the future. A left will download the file which could take a considerable amount of time and give the user a feeling something is not working. With Adobe Acrobat reader if integration is disabled the user has the choice to save or to open. Just thought I would give me feedback. Based on responses on the mail lists it appears that few people as of yet have started to see this feature. Great new feature. I can see some exciting possibilities. A good link to test the ActiveX integration is Andrew's macro document. http://www.pitonyak.org/AndrewMacro.sxw Kelvin
