Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13786
Loading file crashes MSVCRT
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:55:29 UTC
File was used without incident for a year. Now it crashes when opened or even when used as an external data source. The crash is preceded by a pop-up dialog box asking whether to run a macro or not. OOo crashes in either case. Virus detection is negative for OfficeScan and for Norton Anti-Virus. After the pop-up box, the status line shows "Load document" and completes approximately 90% of the progress indicator. Then comes an error box with the title "Microsoft Visuall C++ Runtime Library" and the lines: Runtime Error! Program C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.0.3\program\soffice.exe abnormal program termination closing the error box terminates both the spreadsheet GUI and the Quick Start icon, as well as the soffice.exe process. The problem was first discovered in 1.0.1 with Windows 2000, but also occurs under 1.0.1 with Windows ME and under 1.0.3 under Windows 2000. Any help in recovering data from the spreadsheet would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, this is a double to Issue 12104. Has the file in question ever had some macros in it ? What have you experienced as you have saved the file the last time ? Have you got some warnings ? Was the Office runing for a longer time before you saved the file ? Do you have any idea about something's going wrong on your system ? Could you reproduce this problem ? Thanks for your cooperation. I've attached the fixed file, only eventually written macros should be lost. Best regards Frank *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 12104 ***
