There are two patches to make icu build.  The first patches the makefile.mk file to: 1)use the Mac 
OS X version of the icu-2.2.patch 2) use $(DLLPOST) to fix the .so instead of .dylib problem.  The 
second patch is a Mac OS X version of the icu-2.2.patch which add fixes to the icu build system so 
it compiles.

2) 2003-05-17 copy of icu-2.2.patch
