Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13724
Open document dialog behind other programs
Last modified: 2004-06-08 13:28:09 UTC
Quick starter is not running. I do have several other programs running (and not minimized). I go to Start->Programs->OpenOffice.org1.1Beta->Open Document to launch OOo with the Open Document dialog. The splash screen shows properly. After it disappears, nothing (or so it seems). If I right-click on the Task Bar and choose Minimize All Windows, then the OOo Open Document dialog is visibile. Apparently it launches fine, but it doesn't have focus or is not made the active window.
os->ssa: Looks like a VCL issue.
ssa->tra: Although I could not reproduce this problem, it reminds me of a similar behaviour when dealing with the clipboard or something like this on Win98. Only the right mouse button on the taskbar could resolve the lock, you remember ?
.
Hi Paul, I cannot reproduce the behavior you describe. If you are still able to reproduce it then feel free to send the bug back to me. Thanks anyway. Kind Regards, Tino
Hello Tino, This is definitely still _not_ working on my machine. Did you try it with Quickstarter off? If Quickstarter is on, then the Open dialog displays properly. If Quickstarter is off, then the Open dialog is hidden behind other active programs. Would this be related to amount of memory installed? I'll try a few other variations (e.g., if only one other program is open, etc.) and let you know if anything different occurs. Paul
Hi Paul, interessting to hear that you can reproduce it. Am I right that you are using Win98? Tell me a little bit more about your system configuration. Any hint that may help to reproduce the problem is important. Which OOo version do you use? Did you see the problem on other Windows platforms, too? Thanks in advance! Kind Regards, Tino
cp: as already requested in my retarget list, I recommend to reprio this to P3
With OOo 2.0 we no longer have the start menu entry "Open Document" so the problem will not appear anymore.
