Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13679
customising or assigning toolbar icons no longer works
Last modified: 2003-05-20 16:28:08 UTC
using 1.1 beta 1, it is impossible to customise the toolbar icons. Attempting to do so fails in various interesting ways. Sometimes it simply resets the whole toolbar to its default state. Sometimes it will add _two_ icons. Steps to repeat: Tools -> customise ->toolbars choose a function or macro and add it to a toolbar. Press OK. This will work. return to the customisation dialogue. Choose an entry on the toolbar, with or without an icon. Press the "icons" button. Choose an icon Press OK or apply in the configuraiton dialogue. At this point something unpleasant and random will happen.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce your problem with OOo 1.1 beta and the steps you described. Could you please start the Office without any UI configuration changes applied (check the user/config/soffice.cfg folder and remove all files - be careful you will lose all UI configuration changes. If you want to keep them make a backup of these files) and try again. Maybe the problem occured after you customized an already changed Office. I will also ask our testing if they are able to reproduce your problem.
Yes. it did occur in an already customised OOo isntallation, as you guessed, and I did not get it repeated in the fresh installation on my laptop. If it is any help to the customisation team, I think I had changed or simply provided icons for some macros added to my toolbar. It was on the second and subsequent changes, to the same icons, that all these problems started. I wil try removing the customistions, as you suggest. It's still a bug, but smaller, and harder to find.
Let me hear if you can reproduce your problem, so we are able to fix this bug as soon as possible. CD->TM: Please check the toolbox customization again. It looks like we have a nasty bug that is badly reproduceable.
Problem wasn´t reproducible in staroffice 6.1 beta2. Please check this if an appropiate OO version is available. If this misbehaviour will happen again, please feel free to reopen this issue.
This task is fixed or worked in OOo 1.1 beta2.
