Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13674
self-defined headings don't appear in the Stylist
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
The group automatic should show styles appropriate to the current context. I think this should always include the style allready used in the selection (i.e. paragraph). This style has the strongest connection to the current context.
Please try using the latest OOo 1.1 Rc4, Your version already old enough, and many bug fixes since your version and 1.1 RC4. If the problem still happend in 1.1 RC4 please report back and I think it is feature, not a defect ?

Thank you for your two comments. Where can I find the correct definition of feature, enhancement and defect? If a defect is only something that causes crashes or loss of information it is for sure no defect. But if a defect includes functions that do not work as they are supposed to, it might be a defect. So this is a question of definition, probably I can find this somewhere. I will be looking, if you already know, please tell me. I updated the Version to RC3 I use at the moment (localized german, help -about only says 1.1 no build information).
Hi hesse, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice... I made a new document using OOo1.1RC5 and entered some text using "default" paragraph style. Then I entered some text using "Heading1" paragraph style. I switched from the first text to the second and the sytlist switched from "default" to "Heading1" showing the Paragraph styles... ==> it seems to work here. The settings in the Stylist are : Paragraph Styles and Automatic... Please try with our newest version and send a new comment with a sample document if your problem occurs again... reassigned to mci
If there's no new comment from you reporting this problem until 10/15/2003 this Issue will be closed... set to WORKSFORME...
Hi mci, tested it with 1.1 final german and it does not work for me. Because its an application I dont wont to upload it. I will create an example document. Maybe its because its not a "standard" style (Heading1, standard ...) but one I created myself (one for saying Hello "Anrede" one for Best regrads "Grüße" and so on).
I can confirm this with OOO 1.1.0(en) on Win98. I will attach a file which shows this. It contains one self defined paragraph style "Aufgabe", one self defined Character style "Aufgabe" and one self defined numbering style "Aufgabe". The stylist, when group set to "automatic", doesn´t show "Aufgabe" although applied. It does show this style, when group "applied" is selected. By the way: Online help explains group "automatic" as a group of styles which are appropriate for the current doc. This group, however, obviously only contains paragraph styles, so that my numbering style wouldn´t appear, even if this defect would be repaired. So it would be "appropriate" to see group "automatic" extended to numbering and other styles as well.
Created attachment 10558 [details] demo file
set target to OOLater
changed summary from "Stylist - Style group - automatic" to "self-defined headings don't appear in the Stylist"
I think this is an enhancement/feature wish ==> changed type to enhancement reassigned to bh
