Installation was done as listed on the web site (download, tar -xvf, ./setup, cd
to openoffice60, ./soffice):

mkomarinski@clint:~/openoffice60$ ./soffice
Unable to retrieve application configuration data: Cannot locate Configuration:
Invalid user installationAborted
mkomarinski@clint:~/openoffice60$

There's no documentation about this error anywhere. Running Debian unstable,
2.2.18 kernel.

Hi Mark,
have you made your installation as "user" or as "root"?
The installation has to be done by user because some configuration files are
written into the home directory of the user. Otherwise you'll get this error
message.

Both. As a user, I installed to ~/openoffice60. A .user60 file was created,
but was 2k as opposed to the ~8k file size the 5.2 install made. This was the
only file I could see that got installed. Can I copy the 5.2 file and rename it
as the 6.0 file to get it working?

It would make no sense to rename .user**.rdb.
It's not clear for me:
- you unpacked the downloaded file
- you locked in as user clint
- you started ./setup from the 'nstall' folder
- the destination folder is openoffice60
- after installation you opened the folder openoffice60
- in this folder you started ./soffice and get this output in you shell
Have I got you right?

I have no problems in 638. No answer for three weeks, I'll close that issue.
