Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13315
Save as HTML... unusable
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:56:16 UTC
Hi, Save as HTML of the sample document provided by one of Czech users of OpenOffice.org is not usable. Try it. http://www.janik.cz/tmp/sablona4.sxw
Reassigned to ES
The document you submitted is pretty complex... especially to be exported 1:1 (or even 1:0.5) to HTML. What do you mean with "not usable"? - do you refer to the warning about characters which cannot be exported? -> choose in "Tools - Options - Load/save - HTML compatibility", "UTF-8" as encoding or the encoding corresponding to the document. - if you mean "frame and picture are dispatched around on the page": -> this is quite normal in such a document. The complexity of the doc makes impossible for the program to "interprete" the intention of the author. Ex: the layout of your document is based a lot on the page margin which HTML cannot recreate the way it is in the original doc. Furthermore, please avoid general descriptions such as "unusable". Give details about the problems (what should look how and where...) and in case of more than one problem type, file different issues for each one of them. So-called "collective tasks" cannot be handled. Thanx for your comprehension

OK, next I will do. In fact I still think that Save as HTML is unusable (at least with provided document). But I agree it is hard to make correct export of such documents. Thank you for your reply.
