OpenOffice.org 1.1beta on Solaris sparc 9 and Linux RH8.0

Open a document, select file, print.
In the print dialog, check the print to file option on

--> Bug The OK button gets disabled, i.e. the user cannot print to a file.

It seems as though the file selection box never opens when the
checkbox is selected and the user is left with no option but to
uncheck the "print to file" or cancel the print. This is very similar
to issue 12586, except that is StarOffice.

To anyone looking for a temporary work around (not fix):

in spadmin add a printer of type PDF converter using a default PDF
converter driver and the following as the command line:
/bin/cp "(TMP)" "(OUTFILE)"; /usr/bin/rename ".sxw.pdf" ".ps" "(OUTFILE)"

This also works if you want to choose a specific printer rather than
the default (as long as it is a PS type), I am currently using the HP
Color LaserJet PS.

Make sure that under the new printer's properties (paper tab) that the
scale is 100%, sometimes it defaults to 1%.

This hack only works if you have saved the file before you try and
print, additionally you need a different printer for each type of
file. (i.e. swx in the cmd changes to sxc for a Calc file).

By default the ps files will be in your home directory named the same
as your active file except w/ a .ps extension.

I highly doubt this hack will work under windows, sorry.

In the beta you have to press the browse button (the one with the
"...") on it after checking the "print to file" checkbox. The
behaviour is already changed for beta2 (as this is pretty braindead)
so the file dialogue comes up after you press ok, but in the meantime
you have to press the browse button to enter a file name after which
the OK button is enabled again.
