bibliography references numbers get out of sequence
Last modified: 2003-05-22 13:18:15 UTC
When tring to cite references the short name 'thing' for numbered references tends to get cumborsome to use. I am tring to use a reference format that uses elevated numbers as references... it seems that oo is limited to putting a reference's short name in brackets. OK, so I have resorted to naming all of the short names as numbers. This is OK until I need to reorder the numbers, because of editing. I then have to: 1) go back into the Bibliography database tool rework the short names, 2) remove the bibliographic entry on the sentence and add a new one in its place, and then 3) refresh the bibliography at the end of the document. Maybe I am using the tool wrong. But it really seems hard to get the bibliography tool to do numbered references.
Numbered citations is one of the enhancments listed in the documentation for bibliographic enhancement. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 4290 ***
