Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12927
Display corruption as text is added
Last modified: 2004-02-05 00:36:25 UTC
A line of pixels disappears from some lines of text displayed below an insertion point when text is entered which causes a new line to be inserted. The corruption occurs a short time (a second or two) after the insertion and may be repeated, again after a short interval, without any further text being inserted. The display is restored if the offending text is scrolled off the screen and then back into view again.

Display problem -> US, please take over.
Please try using the latest OpenOffice 1.1 Final , you can download it from www.openoffice.org many bug fixes and enhancements since your version and 1.1 Final . If the problem still happend in 1.1 please report back It maybe not yet solve your Issue, but it worth to try.
No display corruption in 1.1.0/1.1.1a (Linux). Since September (October when adding Utomo's comment) there has been no activity on this issue - as far as I can see, e.g. it's still unconfirmed...
Worksforme with OOo.1.10 on Win98. Will close due to long time of inactivity.

Problem no longer occurs for me using 1.1 on XP
