Description quetschke 2003-04-01 09:37:40 UTC
Probably a minor issue, but nevertheless:

To get this effect do the following:

Open a writer document, type some text, e.g. omega0. Mark the "0", choose
Format->Charakter->Position, click subscript, click OK. Note that the "Automatic"
switch is ticked.

Mark the "0" again and create a charakter style, named Sub.

Now edit "Sub", because you want a bigger Zero. Untick automatic and choose some
different values for the subscript. Click "OK".

If you now modify your Sub style again, you will recognize that the "Automatic"
switch is "gray", you cannot change this setting any longer.

HI: Workaround = click on normal or Superscript and again subscript.

Although a simple workaround exists, this is a P3 issue in my opinion. Not every
user can see that this is a bug and looks or a workaround. Some might think that
it is just imposible to switch that option.

Btw... this bug also exists in Calc and Draw/Impress. So is component "Word
processor" correct?

"... and looks or a workaround. ..." -> " ... and looks for a workaround. ..."
Comment 8 norbert2 2008-10-08 18:54:24 UTC
This bug also exists on Draw, Impress and Calc for hard formattings when
selecting a few characters and right-clicking "Character..."

Could someone please change the Component to "Framework" so that this will be
fixed for all applications?

I think it's confusing to file the same issue again and again for each application.
Comment 9 norbert2 2008-10-08 18:55:27 UTC
Please change to P3 because this problem could confuse less advanced users.
Comment 10 Oliver Specht 2008-10-09 07:00:11 UTC
According to http://www.openoffice.org/scdocs/ddIssues_EnterModify.html#priority
this is not a P3,

Summary slightly changed, Platform, OS, Component changed. Keyword easy2dev added
