Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12722
error on exit unable to write script.xlc
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:21:02 UTC
Running simpress on a powerpoint presentation as non-root user when OO is installed as root into /usr/lib/openoffice I got the following error on exit: Error saving the document file:///usr/lib/openoffice/user/basic/script.xlc/: General Error General input/output error This is presumably because Open Office 1.1 beta isn't aware that it is being run as a regular (non-root) user, and hence can't expect to be able to write in to the /usr/lib/ area. Instead should write to user area or to shared area (e.g. /tmp)
Reassigned to Christian.
This feature isn't provided by OOo 1.x. We are planning this for upcomming versions. In your case you have to install OOo for every user, e.g. making a -net installation and a workstation installation as local user.
