Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12633
Simplifiled Chinese <-> Complex Chinese convertor needed!
Last modified: 2008-09-22 16:48:42 UTC
For chinese language, there are at least two forms: Simplifiled Chinese which is used in mainland China, Singapore(which is a little different from the one in mainland), and the complex form is used in Taiwan, Hongkong, etc. MS words has the convertor icon for Chinese Version. I think it's a necessary feature for a word processor to edit chinese. And ususally one simplified chinese character maps to serveral complex ones, so usually the conversion from complex to simplified has no problem but the reverse process can't garantee its correctivity, so an addtional feature to assign the right complex chinese character to the simplified one is also needed.
SBA: Reassigned to Bettina from the User Experience team for consideration.
