Description ireneshusband 2003-03-21 22:21:25 UTC
I am attaching an MS Word document that appears in WordView as a single page,
but in OpenOffice spills onto another page. Strangely, in wordview the first
text box has 18 lines of text, whereas in OpenOffice it has 17, yet it is in
Open Office that the second text box is forced onto the next page.

Thank you for using and supporting OOo.

The workaround is to change the bottom textbox to absolute page
positioning.

Problem exists in 1.1 Beta 2 and 1.0.3.1.
Comment 3 prgmgr 2003-07-11 03:30:57 UTC
In the attached document, the bottom text box uses the following
layout ( right click text box, choose Format Textbox, Layout tab ):

Wrapping Style In front of text
Horizontal Alignment Other
Horizontal Absolute Position 0" to left of
                      column
Vertical Absolute Position 7.25" below paragraph

If you change the absolute position settings to use the page as the
reference, OOo imports the document as expected.

Gordon->MRU: I know this one will end up in your lap. I'm sorry
that I cannot figure out if this is a limitation of
              OOo or a bug.

Reassigned to MRU

This is a limitation of OOo. OO Writer is not capable of displaying
frames out of the top/bottom page border. When you mnually resize the
lower frame on its bottom border, you can see, that it will move to
the first page.

Issue #12284 describes the same. Thus I mark this issue as duplicate.
