Description magrawal 2003-03-21 20:15:08 UTC
In the attached file I show that when I have empty lines in a presentation,
Impress does not remove the empty bullets automatically, I have to go in and do
that myself.

While creating presentations, we often want to create extra spacing between
lines and the simplest way to do that is to add an extra line. It would be great
if the bullets in empty lines were deleted automatically.

Reassigned to Bettina.
Comment 3 eric.savary 2003-04-16 15:34:15 UTC
Set to "NEW"
Comment 4 bettina.haberer 2003-09-12 08:37:44 UTC
Bullets should be removed at the moment, the empty textline has no
more the focus. Issue concerns interoperability.
Comment 5 bettina.haberer 2004-04-08 20:01:16 UTC
There were no resources to rework that part of the edit engine of Impress. I
appreciate to get this done to the next milestone.

setting keywords, reassigning according to new RFE-guidelines.

Possible workarounds:
* Use Shift-Enter to insert a new line without a bullet
* set line spacing to "double" for the text below the line that should be empty
Comment 9 fgnievinski 2014-02-25 19:00:24 UTC
suggested solution: upon Enter, the bullet is shown grayed out (meaning there's potential for it); the bullet is only really inserted (in black) after user first types first character on that line. This seems to be the behavior in MS powerpoint.

@fgnievinski: Good suggestion, this would mean to have elements which are only vbisible in edit view, but hidden in print, PDF export and others. Did I get you right?
Comment 11 fgnievinski 2014-02-25 21:02:41 UTC
@Armin: yes; not sure what would be the simplest implementation mechanism, though.
