Description gvfarns 2003-03-21 03:52:40 UTC
When running the spell checker, one sometimes realizes that more editing is
necessary than just the spelling correction, but the spell checker will not
allow you to edit the document unless you close the spell check window.

Much preferable would be for the spell checker to pause when you click on the
main window, while you edit the document, and then resume from where it was when
you click back in the spell check dialogue window.

Alternately, the spell check could display the entire sentence in a textbox
below the suggested word replacements. Then if I want to edit the sentence, I
could do it there and then click "change".

Example: Suppose I had accidentally typed "transcend ent" in my document. The
spell checker would flag ent as an invalid word, but in order to correct this
error I would have to close the spell checker, find and correct the word in the
document, and restart the spell check.

I suggest both of these changes, but either one would be preferable to the
current sitation.
