If sidebar isn't showing, bring it up through View->Sidebar.
When sidebar is showing:

Undock sidebar through the sidebar menu button
x-out of the undocked sidebar menu so it redocks
View->Sidebar

Also happens in Calc. Did not test on other OO applications.

Looks like as this is a duplicate of issue 124891 and its dups issue 125030 and issue 125131

I could reproduce the described crash in AOO 4.1.0, but not in AOO 4.0.1 and not in recent developer snapshot for planned AOO 4.1.1 release (milestone M2)
