Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12489
selecting all of the text with a series of mouse clicks
Last modified: 2009-07-16 18:07:50 UTC
It would be useful in my opinion to implement the possibility of selecting all of the text in a document eg. by means of a series of clicks on the side of the text - like in MSWord.
SBA: Reassigned to Bettina from the User Experience team for consideration.

Reproduced on OOo-dev 3.2.0 DEV300m44. Selection works well.
I've also tested this issue on OO3.1.0. Selection works OK now. But what is still MISSING from a "user experience" point of view is this: Clicking once at the left side of a text line marks nothing in Writer. In MS Word this already marks this single text line. Adapting the Writer behavior to the Word one would make changes from Word to Writer smoother for new OO users. I personally used to use this "click once behavior" a lot in Word.

Closing dup.
