1) New a impress document and create several slides
2) From menu View->Header and Footer..., open 'Header and Footer' dialog
3) Check 'Date and time' and 'Variable', and check 'Footer', input foot text, check 'Slide number'
4) Click 'Apply to all' button, the header and footer will be applied to all slides
5) Select any slide, open 'Header and Footer' dialog again, de-select 'Variable' under 'Date and Time' and check 'Fixed' then input some text
6) Click 'Apply' button

Defect: the header and footer of the slide in step 5 should change immediately, but it doesn't. Switch to other slide and switch back, the header and footer refreshed.

Can reproduce on AOO 4.1 rev.1582712 and AOO 3.4 rev.1327774
Can reproduce on Win7 74 bit professional SP1 and MAC 10.9

Strange... what worked for me in comment 1 isn't working now.
