This is a regression from AOO 4.0.1 Not all font variants available on Macs ArnoPro has 32 variants. Only 8 are available on AOO Beta 4.1 for Macs. All 32 were available on AOO 4.0.1 US English (but not with GB English – see previous bug report https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123081 ). This severely limits the usability of this font in AOO. Available on AOO Beta 4.1 Light Display, Light Italic Display, Regular, Italic Subhead, Semibold Caption, Semibold Italic Display, Bold Caption, Bold Italic Caption
As bug 123081 it is hard to reproduce this defect as the mentioned font is not freely available. @lguasaas: Is this defect reproducible with a freely available font? If yes, which one?
The only other one I've noticed is Helvetica Neue. It is missing 1 of 14 fonts variants(medium). I also use that a lot in other programs. I don't know about freely available fonts. Both Arno Pro and Helvetica Neue came on my Macs. In the past I have only seen this problem with fonts that have a large number of variants. On AOO 4.0.0 & 4.0.1 Arno Pro US English, which has 32 variants, is broken down into 11 font categories. On GB English (and some other languages I tried as a test) there was only 1 categories which had only 8 of the variants. On OOo 3.4.1 only 8 font types were available.
On the Macs of my wife - she is a graphic designer - I am observing the following on another font - namely Avenir (also not free): (1) Apple's font tools showed me the following variants for Avenir: - Book - Light - Medium - Roman - Book Oblique - Light Oblique - Medium Oblique - Oblique - Black - Heavy - Black Oblique - Heavy Oblique (2) AOO 4.0.1 (German) showed me in the font list box in the Writer's formatting toolbar the following for Avenir: - Avenir - Avenir Book - Avenir Light - Avenir Medium - Avenir Black - Avenir Heavy - Avenir Black Oblique In the character's formatting dialog on pane font I found the following missing variants: - Roman choosing Avenir as font - Book Oblique choosing Avenir Book as font - Light Oblique choosing Avenir Light as font - Medium Oblique choosing Avenir Medium as font - Oblique choosing Avenir as font - Heavy Oblique choosing Avenir Heavy as font (3) AOO 4.1.0 Beta (German) showed me in the font list box in the Writer's formatting toolbar the following for Avenir: - Avenir In the character's formatting dialog in pane font I found the following variants: - Light, Light Oblique, Roman, Oblique, Medium Oblique, Heavy and Black Oblique Thus, in AOO 4.1.0 Beta (German) Book, Book Oblique and Black are missing.
I get the same results with Avenir. On AOO 4.0.1 all variants were available, broken down into several different font listings.
I think it is needed to find a free available font which is showing the described defect. Otherwise it will be hard to solve it.

Hello, AOO 4.1.0 FR Rev 1589058 and MacOsX 10.9.2 I do not see police ArnoPro (from issue 124496 and issue 123081) reported in the English versions, but in French, the Liberation fonts are also missing. I understand that the Libertines Fonts are absent because having already planted AOO, Is this an oversight or a question of license? Although I personally find there are too many fonts that are often almost never used, it is curious to force the program to replace the font on a document created in Writer (using Liberation) on WindowsMS and open on OSX. Is this issue the same as issue 123081 but only for other version?

This bug is not obsolete. IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. Still occurs in AOO 4.1.3 on osMac 10.12.3 Sierra
