Created attachment 82193 [details] Three page spreadsheet, no formulas. Calc crashes on Insert Row. This appears to be a duplicate of bug 123166. I am reporting it to provide: - problem signature - sample file. It is a serious issue, as it altogether prevents further work. 1. Application crashes when attempting to Insert a row (Alt-I, R). Cannot send an error report: after recovery, the application immedidately reopens the file. 2. The attached vastly simplified ods file has 3 sheets. The problem occurs in sheets 1 and 2. Sheet 3 is OK. 3. The problem was not apparent previously. It now seen in the attached spreadsheet, as well as previously OK backups. I cannot determine what (if anything) was changed. 4. It occurred with calc v4.0, and persists after upgrading to v4.01 5. As a result, cannot work with OO calc. Create a new ods spreadsheet. Copy each of the original sheets of the buggy spreadsheet to the new file. Insert row appears to work in the new file. It still does not work in the old one.

NOT reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 – German UI / German locale [Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions: 1. open reporter's sample (cell cursor at cell A4 2. Click "Insert Row" Icon (Or Menu 'Insert -> Row') No crash Also NOT reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / English locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1554205 - 2014-01-01]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile. Probably related to or DUP of "Bug 123166 - CRASH when Insert>row in particular way in particular document". That one has several DUPs what are reproducible easily for several users and not reproducible for other users. @randomwalker Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find evidence that we have an independent issue here (for example because the fix for the other bug does not work for you). *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 123166 ***
FYI: NO CRASH: Windows XP sp3 OOo 3.1.0 build 9399 CONFIRM CRASH: Windows 7 sp1, 64 bits. Swiss locale OOo 4.0.1 AOO401m5(Build:9714) - Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29 (Fr, 20 Sep 2013) US english UI. HTH
@Rainer Bielefeld: With which sheet did you test? - Sheets 1 and 2 of the sample produce the bug - Sheet 3 is OK HTH
The one called "Insert OK" ... But also the other ones ok when I try sheet 2 in step 3 and sheet 1 in step 4, all wich unchanged cell cursor position. No crash But in a second test after Exit AOO - Relaunch I get the crash in first 2 sheets with the same proceeding ... That's a little strange, but matches with my results during tests for Bug 123166 and related ones. Crash also depends on particular proceeding, circumstances and whatever else.
Friends, This does look _very_ strange. I reported the bug because I believed the sample file I provided was simple, and easy enough to replicate. I see this is not the case, and I cannot imagine what we are up against. Kudos to who solves it. There is little more I can do to help, but if I see anything new I will not fail to report it. Always crashes for me - except the first attempt for comment 4, and except when I do the first test with sheet 3 ...
