Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12370
editing drawing OLE Object on slide - no 'close object' button.
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:54:41 UTC
In a presentation I'm trying to add existing OOo drawing files into the presentation. Insert Object, OLE, existing file etc. Double-clicking the object in a presentation, allows the drawing-object to be modified. However after modification there is not method to close edit session for the embedded object. (Clicking outside of it doesn't close the edit session), no context menus in the object have options to stop editing. The only method to stop editing is to save the whole document, close the whole document and re-open.
Reassigned to Christian.

When I insert the OLE with 'Insert/Object/OLE-Object/Create from file' everything works ok. But when I insert the OLE with 'Insert/Object/OLE-Object/Further objects/Create from flie' only a icon is inserted (Display as Icon is not selected) and when I edit the drawing a StarDraw opens.
thorsten, please have a look
Please note that the OLE insert dialog still has one of those old groupbox separators (so3/source/dialog/insdlg.cxx).
Mikhail, please take over here. Disregard everything in this bug description except the last two notes from Christian Guenther. The problem is as discussed, i.e. that SvOutPlaceObject::InsertObject() tries to insert true OLE objects, which Draw/Impress documents currently aren't.
This feature will be implemented as a part of OLE1 implementation for the task i2822. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 2822 ***
The i2822 task is implemented for SRX644/mav3 workspace.
Too late for beta2, re-targeted to 1.1 RC.
The bug is fixed in the OOo1.1Beta2 for documents which are saved in the 6.0 format.
set to duplicate
The bug is fixed in OOo1.1Beta2 therefore I close the issue. Please reopen the issue if the bug still occures.
