Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 122481
Typing character in outline causes crash
Last modified: 2013-07-03 08:30:53 UTC
Created attachment 80785 [details] Writer file that causes the crash Typing a character after the words "same reasons as" in paragraph 3.e on page 3 of the attached file causes an immediate crash.
As described. Besides the fact, that the whole document is a large deep nested list, I see nothing special.
ALG: Adding orw to cc
I reproduced the described crash on Windows 7 with AOO 3.4.1, OOo 3.3 and OOo 3.2.1
Further investigation reveals the following: - The content of the first footnote has been put into a section. - This section already causes some layout glitches. -- Directly after opening there is an empty footnote container on page 3 which belongs to the first footnote. -- Clicking on this empty container let the complete footnote vanish. -- Editing the document brings back the footnote, but badly formatted. - The "footnote section" together with the image anchored inside the footnote causes some trouble in the layout algorithm which results in a crash. Workaround: - Open the document - Menu Format - Sections - Remove the only existing section which is named "Section1" by clicking the Remove button - Confirm the dialog with Ok button --> Typing a character after the words "same reasons as" in paragraph 3.e on page 3 no longer causes a crash in AOO 3.4.1
remove showstopper request because there is a workaround in place and I don't see the chance that we will get a fix in time. The problem needs deeper investigation in the layout code and requires more time.
