Description ingenstans 2003-03-04 13:28:59 UTC
ON 644_m4 it has suddenly become impossible to change the key assignements.
Attempts to do so end with the screen freezing then the app crashing altogether.
The document is recoverable.

Steps to repeat:

1) Tools->configuration->keyboard

2) reassign a function key (I am trying to assign a macro to f3)

3) press "modify" -- everythign looks fine.

4) press OK -- nothing happens at all

5) press OK a second time -- "An unrecoverable error has occurred: all modified
files have been saved etc"

This is a horrible regression. I can't think of a workaround. But build 638 or
thereabouts showed very similar behaviour.

I have only seen in Writer, but I have assigned this to "Framework" because the
dialog is common across the whole suite.

Trying again to get at the same dialogue box from Cals, I found that I
could safely make the change if the radio button to change a
keybinding across the whole of OOo was pressed.

When I was trying in Writer, I had the "Writer" radio button clicked,
which is the default state. So the bug description neds to be refined.
It only crashes when the app is in thedefault state. On the other
hand, changing the "writer" assignement still crashes the whole
program as described above, and so does deleting it

fixed this by a complete vape and reinstall: the reassignment process
is still extremely slow -- there is a ten second wait on a 400mhz
machine -- but it no longer crashes the program.

This task is fixed or worked in OOo 1.1 beta2.
