i created a .doc under word with a picture its size was 11k
i converted the document to .sxw its size was 84k
i converted that to .doc again and it was 2.3 megabytes

similarly, a new .doc with just a pic is about the same size.

Mohammed,
a few month ago a similar bug (which sounds like your descripotion)
has been fixed. The fix went into OpenOffice 1.1 Beta. could you
please verify if your issue still occurs with OO 1.1 Beta? If so,
please attach the (small) word document to this issue and feel free to
reopen it.
