Description Unknown 2003-02-27 00:12:22 UTC
I've been using OpenOffice.org since October 2002. This issue appeared in
both 1.0.1 and now 1.0.2. I send a lot of assignments in Word format to
school. Whenever I save a file that has a graphic pasted into it, whether
it's a bitmap from paintbrush or a chart copy+pasted from Calc it's unreadable
by some of my teachers. They use various versions of Word 97 and 2000. I
have been able to reproduce this problem on my own systems. I've attempted
opening the files on several systems. If I save in either Word 6.0 or Word 95
format, it works properly on all of the below, as well as on all of my
teachers' machines. It also works fine if I use Import>Image>From File.

Windows XP SP1 Write: Appears corrupted, no graphic, text not readable.
Windows 98 SE WordPad: Appears corrupted, no graphic, text not readable.
Software 602Text: Appears corrupted, no graphic, text not readable.
OpenOffice.org Writer: Views and edis properly.
Microsoft Word 97: Appears corrupted, no graphic, text not readable.
Microsoft Word 2000 (9.0.2720): Views and edits properly.

It doesn't seem like a major problem, but it is an inconvienience, as pasting
an image is much easier than the alternative, plus Word 6 and 95 don't support
hyperlinks.

Reid, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Does this problem still exist in 1.0.3.1?

If so, could you please attach the files ( graphics, Writer file )
required to reproduce this problem consistently.

Reid,
please check, if your problem still exists in an OpenOffice 1.1 RC
build. If so, please attach the offending file to this issue and feel
free to re-open this issue. Thanks for supporting us!

The issue seems to be resolved in OpenOfficeOrg 1.10 RC4.
Comment 5 michael.ruess 2003-09-15 08:55:05 UTC
Closed, because no one is able to reproduce issue with RC4.
