Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 118422
cannot create tables within new database
Last modified: 2013-01-29 22:01:35 UTC
the software tries to locate the datasource and I get the following message: "Open Office requires a Java runtime environment (jre) to complete this task. the JRE is defective. Please select another version..." I tried doing this and it did not work. I can't imagine how any datasource would exist unless open office creates a default one for the new databsae. Base is objecting to: jre-6u26-windows-i586. The above is my current version of java which I can use to compile and run java programs and to which there have been no other objections. When I try to reinstall java, I am told the following: You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 26). Regards
You use odb file with built-in hsqldb or connected to external server? You selected the mysql connector component, I presume you wors with myasql server, but for this no needs java only for wizards, and it not gives similar error. Please clarify it. Possible solution, reset user profile: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=12426&hilit=JRE+defective
sorry if i wasn't clear. i was simply trying to use Base in a Windows XP environment to create new tables within a new database and i got the message about the JRE. i am using the odb file with built-in hsqldb and am NOT connected to external server
getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity". For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.
The bug reproducible in AOO 3.4.1? Change component to none.
